Below is the earliest W class drawing in the Museum’s drawing collection: R995, dated 7 December 1922. The tramcar is shown as No 217. The drawing was created at about the same time as the M&MTB’s purchase of the two X class Birney trams which became Nos 217 and 218. Drawing from the collection of the Melbourne Tram Museum.
